Czech Mission Team Fully Funded
In a matter of 24 hours, the Czech Missions team went from needing $2,400 for trip expenses to being fully funded, with a little bit left over to help Czech youth attend the youth retreat we will host! The team couldn’t be more excited to be done fundraising and spend the last four weeks before the trip preparing messages, packing and praying for God to move.
Unfortunately, the news is bitter sweet. We are only fully funded because one of our team members had to step down for personal reasons – and not being able to take the time off work. We are sad to see this individual leave the team, and know that God will still use and bless this former team member over the summer.
This circumstance brings our team down to eight individuals – two Ignite staff members, one Ignite student leader, and five Ignite Monmouth members. We will spend our time in Czech reaching out to youth, young adults and university students in Cesky Tesin, in the North East area of Czech, and hosting a four day youth retreat.
Our outreaches will consist of a number of “courses” in the afternoons, including: Photography, Art, Sports and Slam Poetry, along with larger, team oriented outreaches in the evenings. We will be sharing our stories of how God impacted us, building relationships with these youth and, hopefully, leading them into a deeper knowledge of Christ.
Immediately following the three and a half days of outreaches, we will host a four day youth retreat, providing sessions to help draw youth from our outreaches closer to God and helping the already-Christian youth grow in their faith. Sessions will include topics on how God sees us, how to study the bible and pray, how to know yourself and overcome temptations, rising up and reaching out to others, withstanding persecution, encouragement to impact their culture for Christ and, of course, a lot of fun!
